Governor's Cup

Hey everyone. I must say that winning the International League Championship was a thrill and was a welcome positive on this otherwise negative season. It was nice to pitch well in the AAA playoffs and then get back to the big leagues and pitch pretty well for the short time I was able. Right now I'm just focused on carrying that over into the Arizona Fall League. I plan on coming into spring training with a positive attitude and in great shape. To be a part of the team during the last game of Yankee Stadium was an honor. Seeing all those great players go out to their positions really put this game and my opportunity into perspective. Something I will definitely never forget. As my family told me afterwards I was caught on camera taking some dirt from the mound. It's in a little plastic bag and will be something I can keep forever. Pretty cool day. Lastly, I just got the chance to watch the season premiere of The Office on iTunes. We were playing in Toronto on Thursday so I missed it. Dwight spraying bug spray into the vending machine after all the healthy food was rotting. Priceless! Take care everyone.

  Phil, you were phenomenal for the time that you have spent with the Yankees. Good luck during the fall league! Oh, and also, I've been looking for the "Lazy Scranton" ringtone for like EVER from The Office, and I FINALLY FOUND IT. As soon as I started listening to it, I started hysterical laughing. It's an awesome ringtone =) I'm also looking for the ringtone where the guys from The Office put office supplies in Jell-O. HAHA! I found it, but I need to find a way to download it =\

  Ok...wow. I watched the 1st half of The Office on Thursday. So, I just went to the official site to see if the full episode was available...and in the comments section there were BIG spoilers....ugh. So not cool. Oh well, I'll still watch it before the next new episode.

  The final game in Yankee Stadium was amazing, especially seeing all of the Yankee greats. I thought Jeter had a really good speech at the end of the game. So anyway do you want to send me some of that dirt from the mound?

  WHEN DOES THE FALL LEAGUE START. HOPEFULLY YOU EOULD PITCH WELL AND EARN A SPOT NEXT YEAR. THE YANKS WERE JUST IN A TOUGH DIVISIONS AND NEXT YEAR THE RAYS WILL BE THIS YEAR rOCKIIES LOL.

  I had to work during both of you starts back with the Yankees but I had the little GameDay thing from espn up so I kind of got the jist of it. Watching the last day at Yankee Stadium was amazing Joba had himself permanetley planted right by the steps and I saw you next to him for alot of it. I was incredibly jealous I hope you and the rest of the team have an amazing off season and bring in all the good from the last day into next season!

  The last game of the Governors' Cup was awesome. Our seats were right next to the bull pen and I even brought my Allen & Ginter Phil Hughes Rookie card... I was going to try and get your autograph but we were late to the game and you were already at the mound. Oh well... maybe next time!

  I got to see your first start in Scranton. You looked real solid. Keep up the hardwork, man, we're countin on you to save our rotation. Not making the playoffs is unacceptable, but we aren't gonna make it without a good staff. You being healthy will be a huge part of our (hopeful) success.

  So happy we kept you a yankee last year and hoping to see you as a starter in 2009. Another thank you goes out to B Cash for keeping Hughes around. I think you and Joba will make this team a contender for the rest of your careers, very happy to have you guys on our side. Hope the offseason training schedule is going well hit that core and legs thats where the power comes from.
