Louisiana Sports Radio Host Defends Florida State’s Horrible 13-0 Rings In A Crazy, Viral Rant
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Florida State had one of the best seasons in college football last year. They went 13-0, setting themselves up for a great shot to make the College Football Playoff, but an injury to their star quarterback, Jordan Travis, would ruin those playoff hopes.

Florida State Was Left Out Of The Playoffs

The Seminoles made college football history last season as the first undefeated Power Five team to be left out of the playoffs. We have seen schools like UCF get left out of the playoffs after going undefeated, but they were nonpower five schools at the time.

Even though Florida State didn’t make the playoffs, they were still 13-0 in the regular season and won the ACC. The only issue was they lost to Georgia in the Orange Bowl, which counts towards your overall record. So the Seminoles finished 13-1. They put out a ring on Saturday right before their spring game with 13-0 on the side of it, and many people were losing their minds since the team went 13-1.

Louisiana Sports Radio Host Defends The Ring

104.5 ESPN Baton Rouge radio host Matt Moscona came to the Seminole’s defense on Tuesday in an incredible five-minute rant where he talked about how if Florida State wants to claim the 13-0 and not even talk about the bowl game against Georiga, then they should.

Moscona also stated other times when newspapers claimed teams as National Champions when the team didn’t even make the playoffs, like when UCF went undefeated in 2017 and didn’t make the playoffs, and they claimed themselves as National Champions

Moscona has no issue with Florida State claiming its perfect record, and he makes some great points about how, in college football, anything goes if you claim it.

Florida State Won’t Have An Issue Making The Playoffs From Now On

The College Football Playoff is expanding this season to 12 teams, and then in two years, it will be at 14, so there is no more of the four-team playoff; so if the Seminoles do go 13-0 next season, they will get in the playoffs no matter what and fans won’t have to worry.
