Chiefs social media posts epic Caitlin Clark throwback photo ahead of Final Four

The Kansas City Chiefs made it obvious Friday morning who they're rooting for in Friday night's Iowa-UConn women's basketball Final Four clash.

The Chiefs' official X account, formerly known as Twitter, posted an epic throwback photo of stud Hawkeyes guard Caitlin Clark decked out in the team's apparel.

It's hard to tell for certain, but it appears that Clark is sporting a No. 88 t-shirt, presumably showing her support for longtime Kansas City Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez.

The 14-time Pro Bowler played with the Chiefs from 1997-2008, so Clark — born in 2002 — likely spent her very early years cheering for Gonzalez.

The two-time reigning AP Player of the Year grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa, just under 200 miles from Kansas City.

If the top-seeded Hawkeyes advance past the third-seeded Huskies, they'll face the winner of No. 1 South Carolina and No. 3 North Carolina State for the championship on Monday night.

Kansas City won its fourth Super Bowl (and third in the past five years) in February.

Last year was the Iowa women's team's first title game appearance, which they lost to LSU.
